The Kasasiro boys are going to play their return leg against Rwandan side AS Kigali
on Wednesday 6th January 2021 after they lost the first leg in Rwanda, a game
they didn’t play but also didn’t have the required number of players to play a CAF
Confederation Cup game. This came about due to the global pandemic, Corona
virus that invaded their camp and a couple of players and coach were infected.
This game is going to take place in Entebbe, Kitende at the St. Mary’s stadium the
home of Vipers football club. But this time round unlike the usual times, KCCA FC
has a couple of players making their debuts in the continental competition.
Among those players is Brian Aheebwa who came in from Mbarara city football
club who we had a chat with and he said;
“We are all in a positive mind, everyone is
in shape and every player is positive. We
are working hard every day to see that we
lift the team to another level,” Aheebwa
said ahead of the game.
“And as a player, I definitely don’t have any
pressure but I see that I have to deliver in
that game. I have to be on top of that game
and see that the team qualifies.”
On making his debut, Aheebwa said: “It’s a
very good challenge, these are the moments
I have been waiting for to play on such a
level and challenge myself.”
Apart from Brian Aheebwa the other debutants are Laza Mazengo, Moses Kalanzi,
Samson Kigozi, Dominic Ayela who was promoted from the academy.
AS Kigali have also named their traveling squad and doesn’t look any different from the team that played back home in Rwanda;
