The Cranes get back to action on Friday evening with a must win tie against Chan first timers Togo.
Headcoach Johnathan McKinstry’s men drew goalless with Rwanda in their opening game in Group C and and are aware that failure to win against Togo could mean another exit from the competition at group stages.
Togo on the other side lost to defending champions Morocco and know that a win to Uganda Cranes will help them advance to the next stage.
But that performance gives Abalo and his staff optimism against a Cranes side that didn’t impress in the goalless draw with Amavubi of Rwanda.
“Against Morocco we missed some clear chances,” said Jean-Paul Abalo Dosseh.
“The next game is to be won. We have shown that we can do good things and we must confirm it now,” he added.
Togo are playing at the competition for the first time while Uganda is into their fifth appearance at the tournament.
