SC VILLA AND SC VIPERS GET LATE WINNERS AS BRIGHT STARS WIN COMFORTABLY.

The Blues boys of the Kampala City needed a late second half goal from substitute Faizo Kazibwe to save the team from eminent shame against MYDA FC in the Uganda Startimes Premier League. After a goaless first half with a little bit of magic where SC VILLA hit the woodwork twice and came close to scoring, Head coach Kaziba looked about out of ideas but later found a way.

Kaziba looked to the technical bench and bought on Benson Muhindo, Salim Abdallah, Muhammad Ssenoga and Kazibwe Faizo for Goffin, Amir Kakomo, Kabonge and Alex Wasswa and three of the substitutes combined for the goal with a cross from Muhammad Ssenoga with a perfect bring back touch from Benson Muhindo to set it for Faizo Kazibwe to put in the net.

In the other game a UPDF side that was reduced to ten players when Mubiru got a second bookable offence in
the 80 minute. The numerical advantage immediately
reaped dividends when Sentamu connected
home Dhata’s long throw-in three minutes
later.


UPDF had the chance to level the game but
Davis Kasirye’s back heel missed target by
inches off Ruben Kabuye’s cut back on the
right.
Vipers held onto the slim win as they
registered their fourth victory of the season,
taking them aloft the table standings with
14 points (two draws).


Vipers head coach Fred Kajoba and his
assistant Paul Kiwanuka consult each
other during the match. Vipers will play their next game away
against Kyetume at the FUFA Technical
Center, Njeru on Tuesday, 16th February
2021, on the same day, UPDF will be home to
Onduparaka at Bombo.

In the latter game, Soltilo Bright Stars registered a convincing
win and their biggest this season after
obliterating Kitara FC on Saturday in
Kavumba.


A perfect outing for the Baker Mbowa
coached outfit saw them register a 5-0 win,
to secure their second victory this season.
Left footed winger Joseph Akandwanaho
orchestrated the damage on the new
comers coming through with a hat trick.
Marvin Joseph Ssemayange who opened the
scores also netted a brace to guide Soltilo
Bright Stars to victory. He fired them into
an early lead, scoring as early as early as
the 6th minute.


At the stroke of halftime, Akandwanaho
doubled the lead for Soltilo Bright Stars
tapping home from Andrew Kaggwa’s free
kick.
A minute into the second stanza, the left
footed winger came to haunt Kitara again,
connecting home from a Jamil Nvule corner
kick delivery.

The lead was further stretched in the 56th
minute with Ssemayange before Akandwaho
competed his hat trick 13 minutes later to
complete his hat trick.
